Verify your domain
Before a banner goes live and the scanner visits a site, CookieDoo checks that the domain is yours. Open the domain in the portal and choose any one of these methods, then select Check.
DNS TXT record (works before the site is live)
Section titled “DNS TXT record (works before the site is live)”At your DNS provider, add a TXT record:
| Type | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|
| TXT | @ (the domain itself) |
cookiedoo-verification=… as shown in the portal |
Many providers write the main domain as @. A new record can take from a few minutes to a few hours to become visible. DNS is checked first.
Meta tag
Section titled “Meta tag”Add this tag to the <head> of your home page:
<meta name="cookiedoo-verification" content="…">The snippet itself
Section titled “The snippet itself”If the snippet with your domain’s data-cbid is already on the home page, that is enough.
What is checked
Section titled “What is checked”The DNS record of the domain, then the home page at https://example.com/, then https://www.example.com/. The home page must answer over HTTPS. If the check fails, make sure the page is public (no password, no maintenance page) and that the tag or snippet is in the HTML the server sends, not added later by another script.
